UPDATE!!!!!!!!
What’s up y’all? Hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer. I know it’s been a while since we posted here, so I’ll fill you in on what’s going on…
New Record: This is perhaps the biggest news. We’ll be releasing our new album in New Orleans on September 4th with the biggest house party we’ve ever thrown. There will be 4 bands, oodles of...

Back to Reality (for now)
We’re back from the road and it has been one wild ride. The second two weeks were highlighted by a multitude of successes - GREAT shows in Manhattan KS, Milwaukee, Little Rock, Tuscaloosa, and Birmingham - and tragedies… I went to jail in Manhattan :)
Check out these links for nice words about us from some Alabama folks:

TextEdit rant, pre-4/20 house party.
We’ve been on the road now for a little over a week, but the day we left home feels like yesterday in one regard and eternity in another. One minute we’re counting cables and cords before we put them in the trailer on our way out of New Orleans, and the next we’re coming home at 6:30am from raging all night in New York City. House parties like the one in Charlottesville instantly conjure sights...
We're goin' streaking!!!!!
We, and 30 other people from the party, went streaking across UVA’s campus at 2 AM on Friday. It was ridiculously hillarious. Alex has film of me tripping over a hill and face-planting in the quad… naked. Tour has been thoroughly entertaining so far and we’re only a week in. Huge thanks to the folks at the Rutgers Camden house party for hosting us as well as The Hideaway in...

We played a fun-ass show in Charleston last night. Big crowd, lots of dancing, good pics: http://charlestonphotovideo.smugmug.com/Parties/The-Blue-Party/11847599_wnNJF#837742999_eT5Sp
a sighTing
So this past Mardi Gras day (the best day of my life) I was on Frenchman St. dancing on top of a dumpster, for reasons a-plenty. Regardless as to why, there were a ton of people taking photos and videos of me. I gave up searching for them ruthlessly on the internet after the first 3 days since it happened. Saddened. Beaten. Hungry for the truth.
Then one day this past week I walked into a...

Blue Party F*ck Yea
akbach:
On the way back from Tuscaloosa:
I played a really cool gig last night. We were in the back of a dive near the bathrooms. Rocked out for an hour. Listened to some straight up dirty barn rock. It was awesome. Mansfield and Red Mountain Renegades rocked my face off. Next stop is Foburg Fest on Friday.

Ladies and Gentleman: Chris Cousins
We’ve taken our little hiatus, and now, we here at camp Blue Party are getting rolling again (on February 13th at Cafe Prytania to be exact). But some things have changed during our time off.
Sadly, Ross has made his long expected departure to pursue a career in jazz, and without a doubt, that is his destiny. Ross has been the most versatile drummer I have and probably ever will play...

Happy Holidays from TBP
The Blue Party wishes you some happy holidays. We’ll be taking a little bit of a hiatus here in Blue Party-ville to write some new tunes and gear up for the Spring. Expect us back on the Saturday before Mardi Gras headlining our usual stomping ground, Cafe Prytania. We’ve got some other big New Orleans gigs coming up this Spring as well as our biggest tour yet. Hopefully, we can...
Roku, The Next Generation
I’m sitting in my living room w/ my roomie and I’m watching an episode of a Netflix show on my Roku box, when I remembered an email I got from Roku over thanksgiving. It said I can now connect my Pandora account to my Roku box. I do a little research and sure enough I can. I just finished listening to a Bjork song and am now listening to Portishead’s “Dummy.” I also...

The Final Frontier.........
Howdy Doody kiddies,
Well, put another notch on the endless nerd-belt of my life this week. It was coming for a long time, I’m suprised it hasn’t come up sooner. I always thought I was a better man, but perhaps I was wrong.
If you haven’t guessed yet, I’ve started watching the original Star Trek, starting at season one. Spock, Captain Kirk, Sulu, etc etc etc etc. Yeah,...

A good birthday
I’ve talked to multiple sources now that say that the Throwback show this past Friday was the best in Blue Party history. I agree. The crowd was insane, attendance was splendid, and we played well. A massive thanks to all who came. It was also my birthday party. A very wild night followed the show.
We’re playing at Cafe Prytania on Thursday with the awesome Bangtail Cats (from...
Good Vibes
Practice tonight for Throwback was fucking sweet. Looks like it’ll be a good show if we play the same way. See y’all Friday!!
Love,
Reid
"Ameriparty"
Our friend, Jen, wrote a nice article about us in the Marquette University paper. We played a house party and a bar gig when we were up there on the last tour. The house party got broken up by the cops, but the bar show the next night was one of the best gigs of the tour. We’re stoked to go back and do it again this Spring.

New Music Fridays!!!
Howdy All!
I hope your post-Labor Day week was short and filled with happy moments worth remembering forever.
This week I’m featuring a South African indie band called BLK JKS. They come from the historical city of Johannesburg. BLK JKS has a cool flavor with mixes of heavy progressive rock and afro-pop. I heard about them through blogs so they are still very new to me. Their new album...
Yeeeaaah, Baby
The theme for our Throwback (Sep. 25 at Republic) has just been announced and it’s gonna be “Austin Powers”… it did come out in the 90’s and all. Anywho, here’s the tentative Blue Party cast:
George - Dr. Evil
Alex - #2
Ross - Scott
T. - Basil
Hannah - Vanessa Kinnsington
Reid - Austin
I was gonna get a haircut tomorrow, but upon seeing the above...
Detox
The tour is done, and it was absolutely unbelievable. We made lots of new fans, saw towns that we hadn’t yet seen, didn’t lose money, and became a better band. A huge thanks to those who helped us organize shows: Sean, Peter, Kian, Brett, and Allie. Y’all are wonderful.
On another note, I need to start listening to some new music. I thoroughly exhausted my collection in the...

One more left
We play our last show of the tour tonight in St. Louis. The bar we played at in Milwaukee on Thursday was insane - definitely goin back to that town. Made lots of new fans.
We managed to get a last minute gig in Iowa City last night. It was the smallest crowd of the tour, but fun nonetheless. That town is way cooler than anyone expected. Can’t wait to go back. Can’t wait to be back...
The row-add.
I’ve got to say, there is no better experience in life than being on the road and just going after it. Collaboration with like-minded friends and strangers with salubrious stories to tell, sleeping who knows where for god knows how long, new music and food and places and people and faces. Everything seems so stream-of-consciousness out here because as quick as something comes along it...
Manhattan last night
Well these last two days of tour have been simply amazing. Yesterday, we played a house party in Manhattan, and it may have been the best impression we’ve ever made on a crowd. The party was wild, the music was loud, and there was only one police scare. I somehow managed to break a string (the second time this tour) with four songs left to play. We wound up closing the night with...
