Rolling Stone Issues “A Big Fat Thanks” To Record Execs: “Because of you, millions of kids will stop wasting time listening to new music…”

UPDATE!!!!!!!!

What’s up y’all?  Hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer. I know it’s been a while since we posted here, so I’ll fill you in on what’s going on…

New Record: This is perhaps the biggest news.  We’ll be releasing our new album in New Orleans on September 4th with the biggest house party we’ve ever thrown.  There will be 4 bands, oodles of booze, and it will take place at a massive art studio (it’s a warehouse) called Studio 3 in Midcity.  More details to come.

Tour: We will once again be stumbling our way across the highways of America from August 20 till somewhere near the end of October.  Dates will be posted in the next week.

T. has been working diligently on creating our new tour video, which will feature our single off the new record, Risky Bet.  If you saw us on the road this past Spring, you’ll recognize the tune.

That’s it for now. We’ll be launching a redesigned website with our release so stay tuned for that.  See you on the road!

Quick story,
I was on twitter yesterday and our friend french (@frenchh) twat this to us: frenchh

The link is to the picture shown above. Her sister’s boyfriend spotted it on a fence at Bonnaroo this past weekend. Pretty fucking cool to have people put our stickers up in states we’ve never even been in before.

Back to Reality (for now)

We’re back from the road and it has been one wild ride.  The second two weeks were highlighted by a multitude of successes - GREAT shows in Manhattan KS, Milwaukee, Little Rock, Tuscaloosa, and Birmingham - and tragedies… I went to jail in Manhattan :)

Check out these links for nice words about us from some Alabama folks:

We’re now gearing up to record our first full-length album this June.  It’s going to have our best songs up to this point and will be out in August.  We will then hit the road again from late August till Halloween… if you live in New Orleans, you understand why we have to be back home for Halloween.

T. is currently editing footage from the road and we’ll have some fun videos for y’all soon.  Thanks to everyone who came out and saw us on tour.  We’ll be seeing you again this Fall. We also gotta give a huge thanks to our partners Tierras Tequila (www.tierrastequila.com) for helping us tour the country for over a month.

Fuck Yeah,

Reid

We recorded an acoustic version of Fallen Souls at Natalie’s house in her dad’s studio. So uh, here it is.

Wheeeewwww! Week number is 2 is finished.  Here’s a little wrap up from the last few days:
4/22 - Macomb, IL:  We played at a DIY house/venue called Day Old Basement.  Apparently, there’s a big DIY scene in Macomb that has really started growing in the last 3 years.  The energy in the room was perfect, and we had an absolute blast playing.  We can’t wait to go back to Macomb in the fall.
4/23 - Milwaukee, WI:  You know it’s a good show when the crowd chants “Blue Party, Fuck Yeah” without us ever inciting them.  We played a house party and the cops didn’t break it up! (they did last time).  We absolutely can’t wait to be back in this town on Tuesday.
4/24 - Big Rapids, MI: This was our fist time in Big Rapids and it did not disappoint. We played a massive, end-of-school house party with our new friends, Poor Boys Relief.  They kick serious ass and would certainly fit it down south.  We opened and the show and still got an encore.  That was pretty neat.
Today is our first day off in a while.  We just played 9 shows in 9 days, and we’re all completely run down.  Nevertheless, we still have 2 more weeks! Check our gig page for our schedule :)

TextEdit rant, pre-4/20 house party.

We’ve been on the road now for a little over a week, but the day we left home feels like yesterday in one regard and eternity in another. One minute we’re counting cables and cords before we put them in the trailer on our way out of New Orleans, and the next we’re coming home at 6:30am from raging all night in New York City. House parties like the one in Charlottesville instantly conjure sights and smells so vivid you’d think you were still there.  How do we still have 3 weeks of this left? How did we even pull this off? Are we pulling this off? How does George sleep so fucking much? The answers to these questions may be brought to fruition when we play our last show on the rooftop of the Redmont hotel in Birmingham, but if they don’t I don’t really care. The memories of my entire band plus about 20 people streaking on the lawn of UVA, George bringing the entire club’s attention to him after he makes an obscene comment when the other band breaks after playing a song, and being shocked by the sheer unadulterated hotness of every other co-ed in Charleston remind me daily of why I love doing this so much. That is all.
